I have been getting several e-mails from readers lately asking: ” What are some easy ground beef recipes that aren’t tacos, meatballs, meatloaf, or sloppy joes? While chicken is super versatile, I don’t see much versatility in ground beef. I decided to try these Instant Pot Ground Beef for a few reasons.

  1.  After making sloppy joe’s in my Instant Pot, I stopped making them on the stovetop.
  2. I decided that I wanted to explore creating more recipes with ground beef.

I am questioning the amount of water. Any instant pot recipes always mentions that you need at least one cup of liquid for the pot to come to pressure. This recipe says 1/2 cup. . . any issues with that?

Yep. no issues with 1/2 cup. There is enough liquid in the onion and the meat for the pot to come under pressure and not burn. It took me a while to feel comfortable with that amount, but it does work.

Can you make these on the stove

Kristen February 19, 2021 - 2:47 pm

Yes. When you cook them, think of the way you would cook sloppy Joes. I would also add 1/2 cup water when you let them simmer on the stove.

I couldn’t get enough of this. I think the suggested Greek seasoning is key to the flavour, thanks for the recipe.

How much olive oil? It’s not mentioned or listed until you get to the actual recipe
