Buttermilk Pancake Banana Bread

This easy banana bread recipe tastes like a stack of your favorite buttermilk pancakes!  

If you love buttermilk pancakes, you will love this fun twist on banana bread!  This delicious and moist banana bread taste just like a stack of banana pancakes but can be made ahead of time.  You will love the maple syrup flavor!

Earlier this past year, I made this buttermilk pancake quick bread inspired by the bread I spotted at Trader Joe’s.   I decided making buttermilk pancake banana bread would be fun since banana pancakes are some of my favorites!

How does this banana bread taste like a banana pancake?

I added buttermilk and maple syrup to this easy banana bread recipe.  You can also drizzle some additional syrup on top.

Ingredients needed

1½ cups mashed ripe bananas

½ cup melted unsalted butter

½ cup sugar

½ cup maple syrup

¼ cup of buttermilk

Two large eggs

One tablespoon of vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

One teaspoon of baking powder

One teaspoon of baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

Optional Add-Ins– cinnamon, nuts, chocolate chips, blueberries, or any other flavors you like with your banana bread.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit.
  2. In a medium bowl, mash bananas with a spoon or fork.
  3. Mix wet ingredients—softened butter, sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, buttermilk,  and eggs. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, Stir flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix well.

  1. Pour the batter into a greased 8X5 loaf pan.
  2. Bake in the oven for 50 minutes.  You will know it is done when a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Remove from the oven and let the bread cool completely before removing it from the pan.
  4. Slice and serve.
