Slow Cooker Bacon Ranch Corn

This zesty buttery slow-cooker buttery bacon ranch corn will wow your family and friends at your next holiday gathering.

If you are traveling for a get-together with family, and are looking for an incredibly easy side dish that will travel well, then you’re in the right place!  Here in Iowa, we love our corn and ranch, so this is the ultimate Midwest vegetable side dish that kids will eat at our holiday table!

Ingredients

Four 15-ounce cans of corn–  you can also use fresh or frozen for this recipe, but canned corn works best.  

1/4 cup of unsalted buttercut into even slices

Ranch Seasoning Ingredients

2 tsp of onion powder– you can also use dried onion 

2 tsp garlic powder

Two teaspoons of dried parsley

Two teaspoons of dried dill

One teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of pepper

You can also use one packet of hidden valley ranch seasoning or ranch dip mix if you don’t want to make your own.

Optional Ingredients: Add a little red onion or jalapenos for some bite.  You can also add additional spice if you like it.  Cajun seasoning, chili powder,  cayenne pepper, or Elote Seasoning taste great when paired with ranch.  Bacon bits would also taste amazing with this corn.

Equipment

crock pot or slow cooker

Instructions

1. Place Corn in your slow cooker.  Place Ranch seasoning on top and stir it.  Add any other seasonings at this time.

2. Cut butter into even slices and place them evenly over the corn.

3. Slow Cooker for 1-2 hours and serve warm from the slow cooker.

Can I make this in the oven?

Yes, you can add all of the ingredients to a baking dish.  Stir them together.   Cover and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes.   You can cook this on the stovetop in just a few minutes.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.  You can reheat the corn in the. Microwave or eat it cold on salads.

This is such an easy side dish that can be made all year round!  Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, or the 4th of July are all appropriate times of the year to eat corn!
