Monster Rice Krispie Treats

No Bake Dessert Recipe

I have combined two of my favorite desserts!  Rice Krispie Treatss and Monster Cookies!  Your friends and family will go nuts for these at your next gathering!

Total time: 40 minutes

These no-bake monster rice Krispie treats have all your favorite monster cookie flavors but are made together in a pan and look so much fun! You only need a few ingredients and minutes to make this easy dessert recipe! These are kid-friendly that children can help with!

Ingredients

4.5 cups of Rice Krispies Cerealyou can use a name-brand or generic rice cereal. 

2.5 cups of Quick Cooking Oatsplease use quick cook oats. 

1/2 cup of butteryou will want to cut up the butter into slices, so it melts evenly in your saucepan. 

16-ounce package of marshmallows– both small and large marshmallows will work

One cup of smooth peanut butter use no-stir peanut butter. 

1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips 

3/4 cup of M&M’syou can use any color combination of M&M’s! 

1/2 teaspoon salt

Optional Ingredient Add-In’s– Raisins, coconut, chopped peanuts, butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips, sprinkles, or dried cranberries. You can also consider seasonal add-ins like candy corn in October.

Instructions

1. Grease a 13X9 Pan

2. Place Rice Krispies, quick oats, chocolate chips, 1/2 the M&M’s,  and salt in a bowl and toss.

3. In a large saucepan, melt butter, peanut butter, and marshmallows until the marshmallows are completely melted.

3. Pour melted butter/marshmallow mixture over the cereal mixture and toss until the cereal and oats are evenly coated. Add additional M&M’s and other add-ins, like dried fruit or raisins.

4. Using a greased spatula, press everything into the 13X9 pan. Let the cereal treats sit for at least 30 minutes before cutting them into squares.

Storage

store between wax or parchment paper layers in an airtight container for up to five days.

These monster rice krispie treats are great for birthdays, valentine’s day, or any other holiday season. There are always seasonal M&M’s at the grocery store for any event of the year! These are different than the classic rice krispie treats mom used to make!
