Have you tried the bottled Olive Garden Salad dressing yet?  I am obsessed with the bottled Olive Garden Salad Dressing you can buy at the store. It is such a delicious sauce!  I have tried putting it on all sorts of recipes, but this Olive Garden Dressing Parmesan Chicken thigh recipe is my favorite one!  My family loved this chicken!   All you need is four ingredients for this recipe.  I have included oven-baked, slow cooker, and Instant Pot directions for this recipe.  This meal is the perfect weeknight meal that takes minimal effort to prepare!

I have always been a fan of cooking with Italian salad dressing, so when I saw Olive Garden Brand Italian Salad Dressing popping up in stores, I picked some up to try out in a few recipes.  I enjoyed the flavor so much! This tastes great on salad, on pasta, but cooking chicken thighs in it turned out to be delicious!   After making this recipe, I saw that this salad dressing went viral on tiktok last fall – way before I joined tiktok.  I have seen people add a block of cream cheese with this dressing, but that isn’t necessary!

This recipe is so easy!   All you need is:

One package of 6 chicken thighs.  You can also use boneless skinless chicken breasts

One cup of Olive Garden brand Italian Salad Dressing. The bottle of olive garden dressing you buy from the store.

One package of grape tomatoes

1/2 cup of parmesan cheese.

Optional ingredients: 1 tablespoon of minced garlic or a few teaspoons of Italian seasonings or a sprinkle of black pepper could add more flavor to this meal.  You can also add a few oz of chicken broth, a few onion slices, or lemon juice to enhance the flavor a bit. Olives or pepperoncinis would also make delicious garnishes.

This chicken tastes great on:

penne pasta

farro

salad

polenta

alongside garlic bread

over creamy pasta like chicken alfredo

on its own!

Remember to cool the pasta or grain according to the package directions for the best results.

Instant Pot Instructions

  1. Set your Instant Pot to Saute.  Add 1/2 cup salad dressing.
  2. Place chicken in the inner pot of your pressure cooker.
  3. Brown the chicken thighs for 1 minute on each side.
  4. Add 1/2 cup salad dressing and tomatoes to the inner pot of your Instant Pot.
  5. Please give it a quick stir to make sure nothing is sticking to the bottom
  6. Close and lock the Instant Pot lid. Set the valve to “sealing.”
  7. Cook on high pressure for 12 minutes. Quick Release Pressure.
  8. Add Parmesan cheese

Slow Cooker Instructions

  1. Add chicken thighs to your crock pot.  Pour 1 cup of Italian dressing, tomatoes and top the chicken with parmesan cheese.
  2. Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  3. Top the dish with additional parmesan cheese if you like

Recipe Note: I think that eating these chicken thighs whole tastes best.  You may want to shred chicken if you’re going to have it over pasta like the slow cooker olive garden chicken pasta that has been popular on tiktok. You will be able to shred the chicken with two forks once it has been cooked.

Hello, I’m making this over the weekend! I’m going to cook the chicken thighs in the slow cooker, but I’m only gonna make four instead of six should I cut down the cooking time? Thank you!!!

I found that it swaps too much dressing and slightly too much time, maybe 10 minutes
