How do you make Chimichurri Sauce?

In your food processor, add

1/2 cup olive oil

Two tablespoons of Red Wine Vinegar

1 cup of flat-leaf parsley

Two tablespoons of oregano

One teaspoon of minced garlic cloves

One dash of red pepper

One dash of salt

pulse all of the ingredients in your food processor until blended. 

If you don’t have fresh herbs handy, you can purchase this chimichurri sauce mix. Or you can purchase bottled chimichurri sauce. 

How do you store Chimichurri Sauce?

There are two main ways to store homemade chimichurri sauce: in the refrigerator or in the freezer.

To store chimichurri in the refrigerator:

  1. Pour the sauce into a clean, airtight container.
  2. Press a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the sauce to prevent it from oxidizing.
  3. Screw on the lid tightly.
  4. Refrigerate the sauce for up to 2-3 weeks.

To store chimichurri in the freezer:

  1. Pour the sauce into an ice cube tray or a silicone mold.
  2. Freeze the sauce for 2-3 hours or until it is solid.
  3. Pop the frozen chimichurri cubes from the tray or mold and transfer them to a freezer bag or container.
  4. Freeze the chimichurri for up to 3 months.
