Chimichurri Crispy Chicken Sliders

by Kristen

Over the summer, I discovered chimichurri sauce.   And now I am hooked.  It seems to me that most ” American” condiments often contain a lot of sugar, so it was so fun to discover this magic green sauce that is tangy, and oh so flavorful.

Chimichurri sauce is an Argentinian sauce that I am adding to traditional “American” dishes. This summer, I drizzled it on my sweet corn, added it to my bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches, and now I have added it to a crispy chicken slider sandwich, and I am so happy I did! These sliders were crunchy, tangy, savory, and comforting—perfect for any game day!

This is a great meal to share with friends or to have as a family while tailgating or watching football at home. I love how easy it is to throw these sliders together; you can prep the chimichurri sauce in advance and store it in the fridge or even freeze it. The chicken is precooked and just needs to be heated up in the oven for a few minutes. The pretzels—well, the pretzels come ready to put in a bowl and enjoy.

Chimichurri sauce is super flavorful and potent.  A teeny bit of sauce goes a long way; I think my favorite ingredient in chimichurri sauce is the red wine vinegar.  It gives it a tangy flavor that makes it amazing!

These sliders were so incredibly easy and tasted so good! I absolutely cannot wait until college football season is in full swing, it is such a fun time of year!  I love easy, semi-homemade recipes to make for my family because I actually want to spend hanging out with them instead of cooking! 🙂
