Hawaiian Roll Breakfast Casserole

Your kids will love this sweet Hawaiian Roll Egg Bake! This easy breakfast recipe can also be served for brunch, lunch, or dinner!  

Personally, I prefer savory breakfasts over sweet ones. Eggs are the perfect protein for breakfast because they keep your family moving throughout the day without feeling hungry. Egg Bake is a great way to feed a large family on a budget. This egg bake recipe makes an enormous amount of food.

Breakfast casserole is typically made with eggs, cheese, and vegetables with a bread base.   This breakfast casserole can be made and baked right before serving, OR you can assemble it before baking.

Recipe Ingredients

One package of Hawaiian dinner Rolls

1 cup of chopped ham

2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

Ten eggs

1 cup of milk

⅓ cup of maple syrup.

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon pepper

Optional Ingredients: Add bacon, sausage, sliced cheese, or veggies to this casserole. You can any of your favorite breakfast ingredients to this casserole; you can use this recipe as a base for your inspiration!

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the sausage, cheese, eggs, milk, maple syrup, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Stir until well combined.
  3. Arrange the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls in the prepared baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the rolls.
  4. Top with the remaining Hawaiian roll halves. You can brush melted butter or olive oil on top of the second layer.
  5. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until the eggs are set, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Storage:  Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to five days. Reheat in the oven. I would avoid storing it in the freezer.

I love how easy it is to make breakfast casserole. All you need to do is put the ingredient into a baking dish and bake!
