Grinch Christmas Sprinkle Cookies

by Kristen

Grinch Christmas Sprinkle Cookies are a chewy, rich, festive recipe. These cookies are fun to make with your kids and will become your favorite Christmas recipes.

Those grinch desserts and Christmas cookies on the interwebs are the cutest! A few weeks ago, I picked up these grinch sprinkles from Amazon because I wanted to try making some grinch desserts without adding food coloring to the cookies. These chewy Grinch Sprinkle Cookies turned out so cute and tasted amazing! They are sugar cookies covered with sprinkles.    Once you try the flavor of this easy recipe, this will become one of your favorite cookie recipes!

In the Northeastern part of the united states, sprinkles are often referred to as “jimmies,” If you happen to live in the United Kingdom or Australia, you will want to look for “nonpareils.”

I used Grinch Sprinkles for these cookies.  Any Christmas Sprinkles will work.

Storage:

You will want to store these in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also cover a container with plastic wrap. You can also freeze these cookies in the freezer for up to two months. I would avoid storing these in the fridge. They will dry out.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. F.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Until it is light and fluffy, add egg and mix.
  3. In a second bowl, mix flour, cream of tartar, and baking powder.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and blend until a cookie dough is formed.
  5. Place sprinkles into a bowl.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, form a 1-inch ball and press down slightly with a spoon to make a disc before coating the cookie dough with sprinkles on all sides.
  7. Place on a baking sheet 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes.
  9. Allow cookies to cook for 1-2 minutes before removing them from the baking sheet to the cooling rack.
  10. Serve.
