Your family will love this easy, slow-cooker turkey meatloaf. The parmesan cheese is the perfect ingredient to mix in your meatloaf mixture, and I have spent years perfecting the meatloaf glaze on top of this loaf. This recipe differs slightly from a traditional meatloaf recipe, but I promise you won’t be disappointed!
I have spent years perfecting my meatloaf recipe. However, this recipe with ground turkey, Ground Chicken, or ground beef also works well with this formula. In my opinion, the secret ingredients are parmesan cheese and the glaze. I have spent years trying to get the perfect meatloaf glaze. It is irresistible!
Ingredients
1 pound of ground turkey- per meatloaf
1 cup of Italian breadcrumbs
1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
Two teaspoons of minced garlic
One egg
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup of dried onion OR 1/3 chopped fresh onion
Glaze Ingredients
3/4 cup of ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
2-3 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce.
Equipment
Slow Cooker or Crock Pot
Bowl
Wooden spoon for mixing
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, Stir together the ingredients for the meatloaf: Ground turkey, parmesan cheese, Italian breadcrumbs, egg, and onion.
- Place the meatloaf in your slow cooker.
- Make the glaze in a separate bowl. Add the glaze on top of the meatloaf before you start slow cooking.
- Slowly cook the meatloaf for 5-6 hours.
- Make sure the turkey has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Instant Pot Instructions
To make meatloaf
- In a medium bowl, mix together the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, egg, and milk.
To make glaze
- In a medium bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce until blended.
Pressure Cook
- Put water into the pressure cooker pot. Place the trivet on top of the water.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf ( no longer than the width of the trivet) and center it on a 12-inch sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Scrunch the foil to form a wall around the meatloaf, creating a makeshift loaf pan. (Make sure it fits in the inner pot.) Spoon the glaze over the meatloaf.
- Secure the lid and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes, then allow the pressure to release for at least 10 minutes naturally. ( as the meatloaf will continue cooking during that time)
- Remove the lid and transfer it to the serving dish. Slice the meatloaf and serve hot.

Cooking meatloaf in the slow cooker doesn’t heat the house during hot weather. It cooks up mouthwatering tender, and it is a comforting meal to make ahead of time for busy nights.

Will this recipe turn out if you use leftover turkey from Thanksgiving and grind it up yourself?
I would use ground turkey. I wouldn’t use leftover turkey for this.
