20 Instant Pot Holiday Main Meals

by Kristen

I love my Instant Pot because you can cook large meals in one pot without fuss, use fewer dishes and main meals,  specifically meat, taste mouthwatering and tender when pressure cooked. So many holiday classic recipes now have instructions for cooking in the Instant Pot. This Christmas season, instead of fussing around in the kitchen all day tending to your main dish,  Cook it in your Instant Pot Instead and enjoy spending time with your guests.

Oh, Christmas. The holiday of dinners, family, and too much food. If you’re not too much of a Grinch and need a little help planning, look at our helpful round-up of Instant Pot Christmas recipes to get you on the right track in your kitchen. I have rounded up the best Instant Pot Christmas main dishes to add to your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner this holiday season. These are the best Instant Christmas recipes that will save you loads of time and leave room in your oven for other side dishes and pumpkin pie.

Tips on cooking large holiday main dishes in your Instant Pot

  1. If you are cooking a larger roast, you may want to cut it into half or quarters to fit in your pressure cooker pot.
  2. Make sure your roast, ham, or whatever you’re cooking will fit inside your Instant Pot with the lid on.
  3. If you are cooking a larger roast, you may want to cut it into half or quarters to fit in your pressure cooker pot.
  4. To prevent hams and larger roasts from burning, I suggest using the trivet that came with your Instant Pot. You will want to place 1 cup of water at the bottom of your pot and place the roast on the trivet.
  5. You can also make many sides in your Instant Pot. If you have more than one pot, you can make mashed potatoes,  beans,  cranberry sauce, soups, spinach dip, and even desserts like cakes or cheesecakes in your Instant Pot.
  6. Once you make a meat dish n your Instant Pot, it is easy to make a gravy or a pan sauce using the saute function.   Just remove your meat, add a thickener and saute down the juices. You will love the flavors it will bring to your meal.
  7. If you like cooking off the cuff, some ingredients to keep on hand for these autumn and winter meals are apples, apple cider, maple syrup, honey, onions, garlic, and stock.
