Cream cheese mints are also known as wedding mints or baby shower mints and are often served during the Christmas holiday, bridal showers, easter, weddings, and other occasions. You will love these delightful treats. They are the perfect size for something sweet after a meal.
One thing to note about these cream cheese mints. I used mint extract, and they look like pumpkins. They are not pumpkin spice-flavored. You can use vanilla and pumpkin spice in these if you like.
Ingredients Needed
4 ounces of softened cream cheese
One tablespoon of softened butter
4 cups of powdered sugar. Depending on the consistency of your mints, you may need less or additional powdered sugar.
1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract
orange food coloring, or you can mix red and yellow food coloring. You can use traditional food coloring or gel food coloring.
Mini chocolate chips to use as the pumpkin stem.
Equipment
baking sheets, cookie sheet, or sheet pan
Hand mixer, stand mixer, or a spatula for mixing. Avoid using a whisk to mix this recipe.
Note: Please use” peppermint” extract in this recipe, not ” mint” extract. The mint extract will make your mints taste like toothpaste. You will love the mint flavor of the peppermint extract. Do not add extra drops. Peppermint extract can be potent!
Instructions
1. Add softened cream cheese, softened butter, and peppermint extract in a bowl. Combine cream cheese with the extract and food coloring.
*note: you may soften cream cheese and butter in the microwave, but ensure the butter does not melt.
2. Add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, and stir the sugar until the cream cheese has a dough-like consistency. The texture of the mixture should not be sticky.
3. Roll 1/2-inch balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.
4. Press mints down with the tines of a fork. Add one mini chocolate chip to each mint to make them look like pumpkins!
5. Store in the refrigerator for at least an hour before eating. Bring out the mints to room temperature about 20 minutes before serving.

If I wanted to make them pumpkin spice flavored how much would you add and would it be the powdered pumpkin pie spice that you would buy?
I would sub the peppermint extract with vanilla and add 1/4- 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin spice seasoning.
