silicone heart molds and a mini heart cookie cutter. You can also use a traditional candy mold. If you don’t have a heart mold, you can also roll the dough into a ball and stamp them with a heart stamp.
Instructions
1. Add softened cream cheese, softened butter, peppermint, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Mix well.
2. Add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, and stir the sugar until you get a dough-like batter mixture that is not sticky.
3. Food coloring in and mix in well. You will estimate the amount of food coloring for each color.
4. You can also use a heart candy mold to mold them.
5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before eating.
Storage
store your cream cheese mints in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks and in the freezer for up to one year. If you are storing them in the freezer, store them in a freezer bag, separating single layers with wax or parchment paper.
What kind of food coloring should I use?
I have used all kinds of food coloring for cream cheese mints. The colors you see in my photos are gel food coloring. I used Neon purple for the purple hearts you see. I used red food coloring to get the pink color, but if you can find hot pink food coloring, that also looks great!
