If you like cream cheese mints, try this cinnamon version! These Red Hot Cinnamon Cream Cheese Mints are the perfect sweet and spicy treat for Valentine’s Day or any time of the year! This easy no-bake recipe is easy to throw together and only calls for a few ingredients.

Cream Cheese Mints, wedding mints, Christmas mints, or baby shower mints are delicious morsels made with cream cheese, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract. This recipe is a cinnamon version and is dynamite! I love how easy these homemade mints are, and I love easy no fuss in my house! I love that this is an easy candy recipe with no candy thermometer needed!

Ingredients

4 ounces of softened cream cheese

one tablespoon of butter

red or pink food coloring ( optional).  You can use gel food coloring, traditional food coloring, or powdered food coloring.

cinnamon oil or cinnamon extract found in the baking or candy oil at any big box store

4 cups of powdered sugar or confectioners sugar

Crushed Red Hot candies

Equipment

large mixing bowl

electric stand mixer

parchment paper, waxed paper, or silicone baking sheet.

Cookie scoop or the small end of a melon baller for forming balls with the cream cheese dough.

Fork for molding your mints or cream cheese mint molds.

You can also choose to use a piping bag for molding the mints.

Note: cream cheese mints can be made with any flavored extract. They are traditionally made with peppermint extract,   but feel free to use this recipe to inspire your creativity!

Can Cream Cheese Mints be made to fit a Keto Diet?

Yes, you can! Cream Cheese Mints can be made using keto powdered sugar, although you should note that you will get a sweeter flavor and should adjust the amount of extract you want to fit your tastes.

Instructions

1. Add softened cream cheese, butter, cinnamon extract, and red food coloring.  Add as much food coloring as you like to get your desired color.  Mix well. If you use a mixer, keep it at low or medium speed.

2. Add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, and stir the sugar until you get a dough-like batter mixture that is not sticky. You will have to estimate with the powdered sugar and go a little at a time toward the end to get the right consistency. It will be like a pie dough consistency.

3. Add crushed Red Hot candies and mix in well.

4. Roll 1/2-inch balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.

5. There are a few ways to shape dough when making these creamy mints.  Press mints down with the tines of a fork.   You can also choose to use a candy mold to mold them.   You can also use a sharp knife to cut the mints into pieces like homemade butter mints.

6. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before eating.

Storage

store your cream cheese mints in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks and in the freezer for up to one year.   If you are storing them in the freezer, store them in a freezer bag, separating single layers with wax or parchment paper.
