Ingredients
Only a few ingredients are needed for this Italian Pork Chops Recipe.
Boneless pork chops or bone-in Pork Chops: salt and black pepper to lightly season your pork chops
1 Cup of bottled Italian salad dressing
An assortment of root vegetables: potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, etc., to cook with the pressure cooker pork chops as the side dish.
Green Beans
1/2 of water or chicken broth
Optional Ingredients: if you want to add more flavor, you can add onions, Italian seasoning, or garlic powder. Add as much as fits your taste. If you like spice, I suggest adding a little cayenne pepper.
Instructions
- Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
- Add Italian dressing, water, and pork chops into the inner pot of your Instant Pot.
- Add the Instant Pot trivet or a mesh vegetable steamer over the pork chops. Add your vegetables on top.
- Secure and lock the Instant Pot Lid. Set the pressure release valve to ” sealing.” Set the timer on your Instant Pot. Pressure cook on manual high pressure for 8 minutes if cooking thin boneless pork chops or 15 minutes if you cook bone-in or pork chops more than one inch thick.
- Quick-release the pressure.
- Remove the vegetables from your instant pot and place them in a bowl.
- Select the saute mode. Brown the pork chops in the sauce to make the outside of the chops slightly crispy. You can choose to add a teaspoon of cornstarch to the remaining liquid to make a gravy. Pour sauce over the pork chops and serve.
If you want to make this meal in a slow cooker, add the pork chops and Italian dressing to the bottom of your slow cooker with the vegetables on top. Cook the meal on low for 4-6 hours—Seer the Pork chops before eating.
