These Dutch Processed Black Cocoa Cookies remind me of an Oreo Cookie, but they are chewy like the chocolate cookies at Subway. This is an easy recipe, and you will want to grab one right when they come out of the oven!
If you like the flavor of Oreo Cookies, you will love this cookie recipe. I added white chocolate chips to this cookie, but I have also made this recipe using other add-ins, and this cookie turns out delicious and perfectly chewy. I had to purchase the Dutch Processed Black Cocoa online, but I am excited to have this ingredient in my pantry.
Ingredients needed
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup dutch processed black cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
One tablespoon of baking powder
1 cup softened unsalted butter at room temperature
One cup of brown sugar
One large egg
Two tablespoons of corn syrup- corn syrup will make the cookies super chewy!
One teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
White Chocolate Chips or White Chocolate chunks.
Optional Add-Ins- If you are a dark chocolate lover, you can make these double chocolate chip cookies by adding chocolate chips. These cookies will also taste amazing with flaky sea salt sprinkled on top!
What is Dutch Processed Black Cocoa?
Dutch-process cocoa powder has been ” dutch processed” or treated with an alkaline solution. The cocoa powder will taste less bitter and darken its color. Dutch Processed black cocoa is one of the most intensely alkalized cocoas.
Where do I purchase Dutch Processed Black Cocoa?
I purchased black cocoa on amazon. You will want to call your local grocery store to see if they carry it. I have also seen it available at Walmart.—command King Author.
