This middle eastern condiment is aromatic and tastes amazing on This sheet pan roasted Shrimp and Asparagus. I made this for a quick dinner and served it over angel hair. This was quick, easy, and packed with flavor!

Now that my parents are vaccinated, my parents came for a visit. My mom brought me all kinds of goodies from Trader Joe’s, including Za’atar Seasoning. You know how much I love Middle Eastern Flavors!

Za’atar seasoning is a savory and earthy seasoning. I happen to really love toasted sesame seeds, so this seasoning is for me.

Za-atar seasoning is from the middle east. You can find it in pretty much every country across the middle east. You will find that each region has its own variation.
How do you Pronounce Za’atar?
Pronounced ( Za-Thar), and it means ” wild thyme” in Arabic.

You can now find Za’atar seasoning at Trader Joes. If you don’t have a Trader Joe’s, you can also find their eBay and Amazon seasonings for a slightly higher price. I have also seen Za’atar seasoning on Walmart.com.
This is an effortless meal. If I were making this for just my husband and me, I would probably stick to just the sheet pan’s contents. I served this over angel hair because my kids love angel hair and will usually eat any meat and veggies I serve with it.
This recipe is super easy and super fast. All you need is:
12 ounces raw jumbo shrimp ( frozen or fresh)
olive oil
garlic
lemon juice
Za’atar seasoning
Asparagus
Sea Salt
Kalamata Olives ( optional)
Angel Hair
And that’s it!
Ingredients
- 12 ounces shrimp fresh or thawed from frozen
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon Za'atar Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 pounds asparagus
- 1 pound angel hair
- kalamata olives optional
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, mix shrimp, garlic, lemon juice, and Za'atar seasoning.

Arrange shrimp on the baking sheet.

Trim and wash asparagus. Add to the baking sheet.

Drizzle olive oil and sea salt over the asparagus.

Place baking sheet in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until asparagus is cooked al dente.

Meanwhile, cook the angel hair according to the instructions on the box.

Remove shrimp and asparagus from the oven. Add kalamata olives if you like.

Let everyone build their pasta bowls.
This meal was a huge hit with my family. My kids almost always approve of pasta, and I love how quick shrimp cooks up!
