Soft and chewy with ribbons of cocoa-rich dough and buttery vanilla cookies, these marble chocolate chip cookies are a nostalgic nod to old-fashioned marble cake. They’re easy to make, visually stunning, and packed with chocolate chips in every bite—just like grandma used to bake, but in cookie form.
Marble Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar – you can use both light and dark brown sugar for this recipe.
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
two tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe Note: You can add white chocolate chips, nuts, or any other cookie you like!

Electric hand mixer or stand mixer
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Divide the dough in half. To one half, stir the cocoa powder to create the chocolate dough.
- Take small spoonfuls of the vanilla cookie dough and the chocolate cookie dough and gently press them together, swirling slightly without thoroughly mixing, to form marbled cookie balls. You can use your cookie scoop to create the dough balls.
- Place the dough on a prepared baking sheet, leaving space between the cookies.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Storage: You can store these Classic marble cookies in a cookie at room temperature in an airtight container for several days. You can also store it in the freezer.
