Who doesn’t love good french fries?  I certainly love them every so often.   After I learned how to make really good fries at home, the ones in restaurants didn’t taste quite as good!

A few years ago, I learned the secret to making really good fries.   You absolutely have to soak them in water before baking them!   Also, salting the fries, and adding paprika is very important.

I love my crinkle cutter.  It is really inexpensive, and makes my homemade fries fun!   Plus, the thing is really easy to cut with!  You can find them on amazon, but I have not really seen them in many stores.

Here is a video tutorial on how I made these crinkle fries.   They are super crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside.

Perfect Crinkle French Fries ( Serves 2-4)

Ingredients

2 Russet Potatoes

1-2 tablespoons of olive oil

1-2 teaspoons paprika

1-2 teaspoons of salt

Method:  Preheat oven to 400f Peel potatoes and use your french fry crinkle cutter to cut the potatoes into fries.  ( If you don’t have a crinkle cutter, I suppose you can just cut them into normal fry shape.) . Soak in water for 5 minutes and pat dry with a paper towel.  Arrange fries on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil, salt and paprika.  Bake them at 400 f for 15-20 minutes- until they are crispy to your liking.

Man, these fries are perfect every time.  I might have just convinced myself to make them again for dinner tonight!
