Instant Pot Sesame Egg Noodles

Your family will love these easy Instant Pot Sesame Peanut Noodles! They are made with mostly pantry ingredients and cook up in mere minutes!

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 4 minutes

Total time: 20 minutes

I love making super flavorful noodle dishes in the Instant Pot, and these sesame peanut butter egg noodles are absolutely delicious and require only 4 minutes to pressure cook! They are inspired by my favorite noodle combo when I visit my local Mongolian BBQ.

You can use different types of pasta for this recipe, but I highly recommend making it with wide egg noodles. Egg noodles cook fast and absorb flavor well.

Ingredients Needed

12 oz egg noodles

3 cups vegetable broth or chicken broth

Two tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce

One tablespoon of sesame oil

1/4 cup peanut butter

One tablespoon of lime juice or rice vinegar.

One tablespoon of honey, brown sugar, or maple syrup

Two teaspoons of minced garlic

One teaspoon ginger

Garnishes

chopped green onions or scallions

chopped peanuts

cilantro

sesame seeds

red pepper flakes

Sriracha

Equipment

Instant Pot

Bowl

Chopsticks

Instructions

1. Press the saute button on your Instant Pot. Add sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and peanut butter. Cook until the garlic and ginger cook a little, and the peanut butter is smooth. Press cancel to stop the cooking.

2. Add soy sauce, lime juice, honey, chicken broth, and noodles. Make sure the noodles are submerged in water. You will want to ensure you have enough liquid in your pot before cooking.

3. Cook the Noodles: Close the lid and set the valve to “sealing.”  Cook on high pressure for 4 minutes (adjust depending on the type of noodles you use). Once the timer goes off, the pressure is should be “quick release” by turning the valve to “venting.”

4. Once the noodles are cooked, open the lid and stir. Toss well to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water or broth.

5. Serve.

You can serve these noodles with protein. Chicken, Pork, Beef, and Tofu all work well with this noodle dish. You can also add fresh or cooked vegetables—Edamame, Carrots, Broccoli, and cauliflower taste great with this meal.

Recipe Note: You can use another type of noodles with this recipe, but the cooking times may change. Ramen noodles, spaghetti, and soba noodles will also work well for this savory thai peanut noodle dish. You can also use rice noodles and coconut aminos to make this meal gluten-free.
