If you love the apple croissant from Starbucks’ fall menu, you can easily make it at home and save some money!

The baked apple croissant from Starbucks is a delicious combination of flaky, buttery croissant dough or puff pastry dough filled with apple pie filling. I will show you how to quickly bake this delectable treat at home and save some money!  You will love the flavor and texture of this delicious treat!

You can make this recipe using your apple pie filling or store-bought apple filling with this recipe.

Ingredients Needed

2- 3 sheets of croissant dough – if your grocery store has frozen crescent dough, use that. If not, the canned crescent dough sheets will also work

Two medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples work well), peeled, cored, and cut thin

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp granulated sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

One egg (for egg wash)

Optional: You can add some sweet cream or caramel drizzle on top of these.

Equipment

Medium-sized saucepan

Muffin pan or muffin tin

Cooking spray

Wire Rack

Instructions

1. Prepare Apple Filling: Melt the butter in a medium pan over medium heat.  Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Stir to coat the apples evenly.

2. Cook the diced apples for 5-7 minutes until they soften and caramelize slightly. The liquid should thicken and coat the apples. Set aside the apple mixture.

Skip the first two steps if you use store-bought apple pie filling for this recipe.

3. Preheat your oven to 375°F

4. Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray OR line your muffin tin with parchment paper.

5. Roll out the croissant dough sheet and cut it into triangles or ( rectangles) .  Place one triangle into the muffin tin like a cup for each apple dessert bake and spoon some apple pie filling inside.

6.  Roll an additional triangle of croissant dough into a snake shape and coil it on top of the apple pie filling.

7. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the apple pie is golden brown. The cooking time will depend on how much croissant dough you have in each muffin tin.

8. Remove the croissants from the oven and let them cook for 7-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack with a butter knife or spatula. Serve.
