Grilled Steak with Rosemary Honey Butter Sauce

My heart feels so full right now!    Let me explain.  In May I was dreading summer just a little.   My child who has the most intense personality in our family was in school all year.  ( not going to say which child) And I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to get everything done, give my other two children the attention they deserve and still keep my sanity with him home.   But actually, I just realized the other day that this summer has been wonderful! And has been much easier than I thought. And I have had a blast reconnecting with my sons.

My older two boys, ages six and four have been having such a blast together this summer.  Building forts, playing superheroes, dressing up in costumes, riding bikes with the neighbor kids, playing with each other’s friends.  It is an absolute joy to watch them become such good buddies!  I think they have rediscovered their friendship after being at different schools this past year.   I cross my fingers in the hope that they let my youngest join in on their fun soon!

Now that I am talking about things that go well together let’s discuss this rosemary honey butter sauce that I drizzled onto grilled steak.  All I can say is yum.  This meal was an amazingly indulgent and easy weeknight dinner.

I threw this entire dinner together in a matter of minutes.

  1. Picked green beans out of my garden and steamed them.
  2. Cooked quinoa in my Instant Potcook time for quinoa in the Instant Pot is one minute.
  3. Pulled out these steaks that I received in my Butcher Box

I received my first Butcher Box a few weeks ago, ( I shared this with you on Instagram.) and I was excited to try it out! I have started splurging on organic meat for my family, and I think it is worth it!  Here in Eastern Iowa, we have some great grocery stores, but natural and grass-fed beef isn’t always available.

This is how Butcher Box works.  

  1. Head over to their website. sign up and pick the box you want.  You can choose the cuts of meat you want or you can ask to be surprised.  ( I chose to be surprised, as I need some element of surprise in my life) You can also choose the frequency at which you want to receive your meat.
  2. About a week later you will receive a box at your doorstep!

Okay, let’s get back to this delicious steak with rosemary butter sauce!

I discovered this past year that adding Rosemary to my main dishes make a magical tasting meal.  I have a huge Rosemary plant in my backyard, and on special occasions, I like to head out there and see how I can incorporate it into a meal.  This rosemary-honey butter sauce was out of this world, and every bit of it was lapped up by my children.

Grilled Steak with Rosemary-Honey Butter sauce

Ingredients

  • 2-4 steaks

Rosemary-Honey Butter Sauce

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1-2 sprigs Rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. Make Honey butter sauce. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter, add honey and rosemary and cook for 5-10 minutes, constantly stirring.  You can remove the rosemary from the butter or leave it in if you prefer. 

  2. salt and pepper steaks and grill them to your liking 

  3. Let the steaks rest and drizzle rosemary-honey butter on the steaks and serve immediately.
