These Moose Tracks Cookie Bars are laced with gooey fudge and are filled with peanut butter cups! They are the perfect cookie bar to enjoy with a glass of milk after a long day and the ideal treat to bring to your holiday festivities! These cookie bars are easy to make and only require a few ingredients.
Where did the term Moose Tracks come from?
Moose Tracks is a flavor of ice cream. The Original Moose Tracks product description is as follows, “vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and famous Moose Tracks fudge.” These cookie bars are reminiscent of most tracks ice cream, as they bake up with peanut butter cups and are laced with hot fudge. When you eat these Moose Tracks cookie bars, you will be reminded of your favorite pint of ice cream!
Here is a list of ingredients you need for these cookie bars
2 cups of All-Purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
One teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup butter. You can use salted or unsalted butter
1 cup of Brown Sugar
Two large eggs
One teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of hot fudge – found in the ice cream topping department in the grocery store
3/4 cup of chopped peanut butter cups – or mini peanut butter cups.
Optional Ingredients:
You can add pecans, sprinkles, white chocolate chips, semisweet chocolate chips, caramel, or any other ingredients you like with your Moose Tracks ice cream.
Equipment needed
Parchment paper or Cooking Spray
Recipe note: You might notice no baking powder in the recipe. I didn’t want these cookies to rise as much as a traditional chocolate chip cookie. I wanted to keep these gooey and chewy on the inside with a golden brown crust on the outside.
Just follow these simple steps!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl, stir flour with salt and baking soda.
- Add the flour mixture into the giant bowl to make the cookie dough.
- Chop up the peanut butter cups and fold them into the dough.
- Line your baking dish with parchment paper. Drop dough onto the baking sheet and spread it to fill the entire thing.
- Microwave the jar of hot fudge and pour it randomly on top of the cookie bars. Use a toothpick to swirl the fudge around in the cookie dough.
- Bake cookie bars in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven, let cool, and serve once they have reached room temperature.
You will love the chunks of peanut butter cups swirled with fudge when you bite these cookie bars! My family loved them! These would make an excellent treat to gift to neighbors or teachers for the holidays. You will love these yummy cookies! You will want to make multiple batches!

Quick to make and oh, so yummy!!
I appreciate your feedback! Have a nice day!
Thanks for sharing! Does it keep long?
This looks so good! What a great recipe to make for friends in the spring!
Is the parchment paper necessary. It’s called for in the recipe but the instructions don’t say if you are to lift the cooked bars out of the pan by the paper or cut on the paper.
You can also spray your pan well, but parchment paper works better.
I followed the recipe to the letter. Texture was great looked amazing, however, cook not taste the peanut butter cups. I also added chocolate chips. I think if I were to make these again I would up the peanut butter cups.
These were fabulous! So different from anything I’ve seen!
We loved them! We also added mini chocolate chips!
Um wow. These were so good!
I made this last night for my church small group. I added more hot fudge after baking😊. They were a hit. Will make again
Thank you, Danielle! I appreciate you taking the time to tell me! Have a nice day!
How big is the pan
9X13
Made these tonight and they are good! Your blog write up does not match the recipe though. One place says 1/2 cup of hot fudge and the other says 1/3 cup. No vanilla is listed on the printable recipe.
How long will they keep?
5 days
Can you use melted chocolate chips instead of the hot fudge.
You can, but I think hot fudge will make them gooier.
