5 Cherry Dessert Recipes

by Kristen

If you love cherries, these five cherry desserts bring big cherry flavor with simple ingredients and easy steps. Each recipe makes a sweet treat that works for weeknights, potlucks, or holiday baking.

Cherry desserts are some of my favorite things to bake, and these recipes always remind me why cherries add so much flavor to the simplest treat. Whether you are baking with fresh cherries, sweet cherries, frozen cherries, or cherry pie filling, there is always something fun about pouring ingredients into a large bowl, using a mixer to bring the batter together, pressing everything into a baking dish or pan, and creating a dessert that comes out of a preheated oven warm and comforting. These recipes use ingredients like butter, vanilla extract, almond extract, and even graham crackers and chocolate to give you a variety of cherry treats that feel right for summertime berries, fall baking, or something fun for Valentine’s Day.

Here are five cherry recipes from my website that always get a great response. Each one brings a different texture and flavor, and they all work well for anyone who loves dessert recipes that feel homemade and inviting.

Cherry Granola Cookies

These cookies have the soft texture of classic cookie dough mixed with oats, dried cherries, and a little crunch from granola. The cherries add extra moisture, keeping the cookies soft for days in the refrigerator or freezer. A scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side turns these cookies into a sweet treat that feels extra special for kids or guests.

Oatmeal Cherry Pie Bars

If you love the flavor of warm cobblers and the comfort of cherry pie filling, these bars are an easy bake. The crust and crumb topping come together in a large bowl, and the cherry layer melts into the oats as it bakes. They slice beautifully once chilled in the fridge,e and they travel well for potlucks.

Cherry White Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

These bars mix cherries with melty white chocolate for a fun combination of berries and chocolate. The batter comes together quickly with a mixer and bakes into a soft blondie-style bar. You can enjoy them warm or refrigerate them for a firmer bar that cuts cleanly with a spatula.

Cherry Cobbler Muffins

These muffins taste like tiny cobblers that fit perfectly into a lunchbox or breakfast tray. I used pie filling, but  Fresh or frozen cherries will also work well in this recipe, and the muffins stay soft thanks to the cherry juices that melt into the batter. They are sweet without being too heavy, and they pair perfectly with a warm drink.

Cherry Pie Buttons

These bite-sized treats use cherry pie filling and a simple crust to create tiny cherry delights that look adorable on any table. They bake quickly, use very few ingredients, and are perfect for anyone who wants a cute dessert that still tastes like real cherry pie.

Each of these bakes is easy to prepare and uses simple instructions with familiar ingredients. You can store the leftovers in the refrigerator or freezer and enjoy a sweet treat whenever you need a quick treat. These cherry desserts are versatile, full of flavor, and always a hit.
