Christmas Tree Shaped Cream Cheese Mints

These Christmas tree-shaped cream cheese mints are a quick, no-bake dessert recipe you can make for the holidays!

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2-3 drops green food coloring
  • yellow star sprinkles 1 per mint
  • mini chocolate chips 1 per mint

Instructions

  1. Add softened cream cheese, softened butter, and peppermint extract in a bowl. Combine cream cheese with the extract and food coloring.

  2. Add powdered sugar,  1 cup at a time, and stir the sugar until the cream cheese has a dough-like consistency. The texture of the mixture should not be sticky.

  3. Mold small spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture into something like a  triangle using a butter knife on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.

  4. Press mints down with the tines of a fork.   Add one mini chocolate chip to the bottom of each mint to make it look like the tree trunk.  Add one star-shaped sprinkle to the top of each tree cream cheese mints

  5. Store in the refrigerator for at least an hour before eating.  Bring out the mints to room temperature about 20 minutes before serving.
