Eggless Chocolate Chip Applesauce Cake

This easy eggless applesauce cake recipe calls for no eggs or butter and has a super quick prep time.  Everyone in your family will want a slice!

Servings 6 people

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1.  Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray pan with cooking spray.  

  2.  Add the applesauce, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and Milk to a mixing bowl.

  3. Add sugar followed by the self-rising flour and mix until a batter is formed.

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. 

  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick or a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely. This cake is best served at room temperature.  

  7. Frost (Optional): Once cooled, frost the cake with your favorite frosting.  You can also dust with powdered sugar or eat it as is.
