Applesauce Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup all- purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  2. Cream butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat ½ cup softened butter½ cup sugar, and ¼ cup brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add wet ingredients: Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla and the applesauce.

  4. Combine dry ingredients: Whisk together 1 cup flour½ teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon salt in a separate bowl.

  5. Mix everything: Gradually add the dry and wet ingredients, stirring until combined.

  6. Fold chocolate chips into the mixture: Gently mix in 1 cup of chocolate chips.

  7. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches

  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
