Salted Brown Butter Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour!
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar coating the cookie
  • 1 tablespoon large crystal sea salt for topping cookie

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees FMake your brown butter.  In a saucepan over low heat, cook one stick of salted butter on low until it gets foamy- about 5 minutes. Make sure to scrape the milk solids from the pan to use in your cookies.  Let brown butter cool.

  2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl.

  3. Whisk together vanilla extract and eggs.  Add to the dough. And mix.

  4. Add brown butter last. Mix to form your dough. 

  5. Cover your dough with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  6. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper

  7. Use a cookie scoop to form 1-2 inch balls.

  8. Roll each ball in powdered sugar and arrange it on the cookie sheet a few inches apart.

  9. Top each cookie with large crystal sea salt.

  10. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes.

  11. Make sure to let the cookies cool for at least 5 minutes before placing them on a wire rack to cool.

  12. Serve.
