Muffin Tin Thumbprint Cookies

Your house will smell amazing when you take these thumbprint cookies out of the oven!  These cookies are buttery, soft, and filled with your favorite jam!  This recipe is foolproof when you make this classic Christmas cookie in a mini muffin tin.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup your favorite jam or jelly

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs in a medium-sized mixing bowl. 

  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour and baking powder. 

  3. Grease the muffin tin with cooking spray. 

  4. Add flour mixture into the cookie dough with the wet ingredients.

  5. Spoon in 1 inch balls of cookie dough into each muffin tin

  6. Using your thumb, create an indentation in each cookie. to create the cookie cups.

  7. Spoon a tablespoon of preserves in each cookie. 

  8. Bake the cookies in the oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. 

  9. Once the cookies are cooled, sprinkle a dusting of powdered sugar on top of each cookie using a flour sifter.
