Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract or vaniila extract
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds or another nut

egg wash

  • 2 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and sugar.

  2. Blend in yolks and flavoring.

  3. Add flour and mix well.

  4. Fold in nuts

  5. Refrigerate dough for at least an hour.

  6. Shape dough into 2-inch strips.

  7. Brush egg white on each cookie.

  8. Cook at 350 degres for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown

  9. Cool and serve
