  • 1/2 cup butter cut into even slices
  • 1-2 pounds beef tips or stew meat
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 cup water
  • 6 carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1.5 pound baby potatoes


  1. Cut the butter into even slices.

  2. Make your brown butter. Set your Instant Pot to the saute setting and add the butter.

  3. Constantly stir the butter for 4 minutes. Hit the cancel button. Continue to stir the brown butter for 3-4 minutes as the Instant pot is cooling down.

  4. Add beef, salt, and thyme. Mix everything together.

  5. Add 1 cup of water.

  6. Add the trivet or a vegetable steamer into the inner pot of your Instant Pot.

  7. Cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Quick Release Pressure.

  8. Let the beef rest for 10 minutes before eating

  9. Arrange the food on a plate. drizzle everything with brown butter sauce before serving.
