Shredded Beef Gyros

Ingredients

  • 1 3 pound beef roast
  • 1 large red onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth

tzatziki Sauce

  • 2 cups greek yogurt
  • 2 teaspoon dillweed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 english cucumber chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove minced garlic

Gyro finishing touches

  • pita bread
  • cucumber slices
  • tomatoes
  • red onions
  • feta cheese
  • kalamata olives

Instructions

Slow Cooker Instructions

  1. Place beef roast at the bottom of your slow cooker. 

  2. Add the chopped onion and the spices. 

  3. Pour the beef broth on top of the roast. 

  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours

  5. shred beef, and build your gyros 

Pressure Cooker/ Instant Pot Instructions

  1. Place Beef Roast at the bottom of your Pressure Cooker Pan

  2. Add onion, garlic, and spices.  

  3. Pour beef broth on top of the roast. 

  4. Close pressure cooker lid and cook on high pressure for 60 minutes.  

  5. Release pressure, and open the lid to the pot 

  6. shred beef and build your gyros.
