Gyro Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion
  • 1-2 pounds cubed steak or your beef of choice
  • 2 teaspoons majoram
  • 2 teaspoons rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 2 tablespoons Greek seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 cups of each chopped celery, chopped carrots and chopped potatoes
  • 1/8 cup lemon juice
  • 1 12 ounce jar crushed tomatoes
  • 1 10 ounce bag of frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup Pinot Noir or your favorite dry red wine

Garnishes

  • cucumber slices
  • tomatoes
  • pita chips
  • feta cheese
  • Tzatziki sauce

Tzatziki sauce

  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1 small english cucumber, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 dash salt

Instructions

  1. Set your pressure cooker to saute. 

  2. Drizzle olive oil in the pan.   Add onions, beef, lemon juice spices, and wine. Stir and brown meat. 

  3. Add peas, tomatoes, carrots, celery, and potatoes. 

  4. Close pressure cooker lid.  Cook on high pressure for 25 minutes

  5. Let pressure cooker naturally release 

  6. garnish to your specifications and serve!
