Buttermilk Chocolate Chip Cookies

Servings 20 cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Add dry ingredients into a mixing bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.  Set aside.

  3. In a second bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk.

  4. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients to form a dough.

  5. Fold in chocolate chips.

  6. Using a cookie scoop, drop 1-inch balls of cookie dough onto a lined baking sheet at least 1 inch apart.  

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before transferring the cookies to a cooling rack.
