Instant Pot Pork Gyros

This delicious gyros recipe combines pork, onion, and garlic with tasty Greek spices to create incredible homemade gyros in less than 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1-2 pounds 1-2 pounds of pork cut into chunks
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons kalamata olive brine
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 teaspoons marjoram
  • 2 teaspoons Greek Seasoning
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 cup water or chicken broth

Sandwich Ingredients

  • pita bread or naan
  • tomato
  • red onion
  • lettuce
  • cucumber
  • feta cheese
  • Tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. Place your pork into small chunks in a small bowl. 

  2. Add olive oil, lemon juice, olive brine,  garlic, and spices and stir to coat the pork.

  3. Place pork in the inner pan of your Instant Pot.  

  4. Add water and onions on top.  Lock and secure your Instant Pot lid and rotate the pressure release valve to "sealing."

  5. Pressure cook on high pressure for 12 minutes. Release remaining pressure. 

  6. Press the saute button and saute the pork for 5 minutes until it gets brown and the liquid cooks down.

  7. Build your gyro sandwich.

Slow Cooker Instructions

  1. Yes! All you have to do is follow steps 1 and 2 above but add the ingredients to your slow cooker for 2-4 hours. And build your gyro.  If you slow-cook this recipe, your pork may shred, but it will taste fantastic!
