Ingredients

  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter
  • 4 drops cinnamon extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 drops red food coloring
  • 1-2 tablespoons crushed red hot candies

Instructions

  1. Add softened cream cheese, butter, cinnamon extract, and red food coloring.  Add as much food coloring as you like to get your desired color.  Mix well. If you use a mixer, keep it at low or medium speed.

  2. Add powdered sugar,  1 cup at a time, and stir the sugar until you get a dough-like batter mixture that is not sticky. You will have to estimate with the powdered sugar and stir a little at a time toward the end to get the right consistency. It will be like a pie dough consistency.  

  3. Add crushed Red Hot candies and mix in well.

  4. Roll 1/2-inch balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.

  5. Press down the cream cheese mints with a fork. You can also choose to use a candy mold to mold them.

  6. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before eating.
