Preheat oven to 325 f
Prepare ingredients. Peel and slice apples, and cut butter into even slices. Spray the baking dish with cooking spray.
Place apple pie filling, apples, and vanilla extract into your baking dish and mix evenly.
Dump your cake mix over the apple pie filling. DO NOT MIX
Place slices of butter evenly over the cake mix.
Top off your cake with crushed cinnamon toast crunch and other toppings you want.
Bake in the oven for 1 hour or until your cake is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling.
Add additional cinnamon toast crunch for some extra crunch. If you are adding caramel, you can drizzle it on now.
Serve in a bowl with a dollop of whipped cream or a small scoop of vanilla ice cream
