In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.  Add garlic and saute. Add flour and whisk with the butter to make a roux.

Add salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese.  Reduce the heat and keep stirring while cheese sauce thickens.

You can spice up this white cheese sauce if you like.  Smoked paprika, spicy mustard, or extra garlic would taste great with this recipe!
