5 Reasons the Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota is great for family fun

My family received a complimentary stay at the  Great Wolf Lodge in exchange for this post.  All opinions are entirely my own. #greatwolflodge #greatwolfminnesota

I had a great time traveling to the Wolf Lodge and reconnecting with my family.  The Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota just opened last year and is an excellent place for families to visit.  The Twin Cities is only a three-hour drive north from Cedar Falls and was a great place for my family to visit. My three boys had a fabulous time!   The Great Wolf Lodge is geared towards families and pays attention to details that help families to have fun together.   Here are five reasons why the Great Wolf Lodge was a great place to visit with kids!

The Family Friendly Hotel Room

My family loved our hotel room when we stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota was perfect for my family of five!  We had more than enough places to sleep comfortably, and my two older sons thought the bunk beds in our room were so neat!   Our room included a Queen sized bed, a set of bunk beds, a pull-out couch and we still had room for my one-year-old to sleep in his pack and play- which the Wolf Lodge provided for us.   Our room also had a mini refrigerator and a microwave.  My family always travels with healthy snacks and sandwich fixings; it was easy to head up to our room to have a snack or a sandwich when we got hungry.

We had a room that overlooked the waterpark.  We had a fun time watching what was going on out there in the Park.  The doors leading out to the balcony were sound-proof, and our kids were able to sleep soundly when we pulled the curtain shut.

The Waterpark

My husband and I and our sons, ages 6, 4 and 1 had an absolute blast in the waterpark at the Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota.  There was something for all of us to do.  My six and -year old enjoyed the water slides, the lazy river, and the bigfoot pass.  My four-year-old loved  Fort Mackenzie and my one year old loved all of the little water fountains around Fort Mackenzie and sitting on my lap while we floated down the lazy river on a tube.

We had so much fun at the Waterpark and could have easily spent more time there.  It was so exciting for my kids to wake up and look out onto the park.

The Food

There are several food options my kids enjoyed right within the Great Wolf Lodge Resort! There is a burger restaurant right in the Waterpark, a breakfast buffet, a dinner buffet a pizza restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, and a Ben and Jerrys.  All of the choices had options that my kids enjoyed, especially the breakfast buffet!

Great Wolf Adventure Park

There were so many fun activities for kids at the Wolf Lodge beside the waterpark.  They had a blast participating in Magiquest, the creation station and playing in the Northern Lights Arcade.   Magiquest is a fun activity where kids get wands, and when they wave them at different things around the resort, they make those things light up and talk.   The creation station is a ” build your own stuffed animal” station, and the Northern Lights Arcade is a fun arcade that had games for people of all ages.

The little details

The Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota does a great job paying attention to those little details that my husband and kids noticed and loved.   From the HUGE life-guarding staff that stayed alert by performing drills throughout the day, to the wolf prints that my kids followed for fun in the hallways, to the themed activities for kids in the hotel lobby to the fantastic customer service ( and when I mean fantastic customer service, I do not say that lightly)   The Wolf Lodge with kids was a great experience.

Until next time Wolf Lodge!
