Last winter the PTA organization at my son’s school rented out a movie theater on a Saturday morning for all the kids to watch Peter Rabbit. It was super fun, and we loved the movie. Watching Peter Rabbit for family movie night seems appropriate for my family since we spend most of our weekends during the summer in our garden.
The Peter Rabbit movie was released at Walmart on Tuesday, May 1st. It is a fun movie for the entire family! You can find it in the front of the store on a movie kiosk. It will be clearly marked.
Movie night wouldn’t be complete without some delicious snacks for the kids! My kids absolutely loved their Kid Cuisine All Star Chicken Breast Nugget Meal and perfectly popped popcorn from Orville Redenbacher
Kid Cuisine serves up some of my kid’s favorite foods in an easy microwave meal, including a full serving of veggies. Orville Redenbacher popcorn is the leading microwave popcorn, there are no artificial preservatives, dyes or flavors in Orville Redenbacher popcorn. This special night, along with a fun garden craft made for such a fun family movie night!
The characters in Peter Rabbit spend much of their time in a vegetable garden or trying to obtain vegetables. My kids love helping in our yard. They love pushing the wheelbarrow, they like to water our vegetables but most of all, they love picking our vegetables and eating them!
That is why I decided it would be fun to make these garden markers with my boys. We took a trip to the craft department to find a fun way to make some colorful garden markers together for our vegetable garden.
I used 3d fabric paint on these garden markers because I love the way it looks and it usually holds up really well. 3d paint is found in the craft department at Walmart with t-shirt decorating supplies.
Mini Flower Pot Garden Markers
mini terra cotta pots
hot glue gun
3d fabric paint- assorted colors.
Method: Decorate each terra cotta pot with the herb or vegetable you would like to mark. Make sure to turn the terra cotta pot backward, so that the pot is facing down when you’re decorating. Get creative and let your kids do it too! Let the designs dry for 2-3 hours. Warm up a hot glue gun and glue a dowel to the in the middle hole of the pot. Let the hot glue dry for an hour and mark your vegetables in your garden!
My kids and made this free-hand, but I put together some up-close photos for you if you wanted to see them. I personally think they look cute done freehand.
This was such a fun activity to do with my kids. From visiting the craft department together to putting these markers out in the garden. This was a super fun activity! Check out more ways your family can celebrate movie night with Peter Rabbit!
