Strawberry Cheesecake Breakfast Rolls

Your friends and family will love this easy semi-homemade strawberry sweet rolls recipe! You only need to whip up a quick strawberry sauce and bake up some store-bought crescent rolls!

If you love serving baked goods to friends and family at brunchtime but don’t want to spend much time fussing in the kitchen, you should try this semi-homemade strawberry cheesecake sweet rolls.   All you need is crescent rolls, cream cheese, and ingredients for a simple fruit sauce!  These rolls are perfect for Sunday morning brunch, wedding and baby showers, graduation parties, Christmas, Easter, and anytime you’re craving a sweet treat!

Strawberry Cheesecake Breakfast Rolls

Strawberry Cheesecake Breakfast Rolls Yields 12 rolls 

Ingredients 

Strawberry Sauce 

1lb container of strawberries

1/4 cup of sugar

1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch

juice of 1/2 lemon

Glaze 

1/2 cup of powdered sugar

juice of 1/2 lemon

vanilla extract ( optional)

Rolls

One package of crescent rolls

4 ounces of  whipped cream cheese

Equipment

8×8  baking dish or baking sheet

Mixing bowl for the filling, a small bowl will do.

Parchment paper or cooking spray

saucepan and whisk

Instructions

1.  Make the strawberry sauce. In a small saucepan, chopped strawberries, lemon juice, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat using a whisk until the sauce is thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

2.  Roll out the crescent roll dough into two rectangles. Spread cream cheese onto the dough and roll the dough.

3.  Cut the crescent dough into rolls. Place the rolls 1 inch apart on a prepared baking sheet or pie pan.

4. Prepare egg wash and brush it over the rolls.  You can also brush a tablespoon of melted butter over the top for a richer flavor.

4. Bake according to the instructions on the crescent roll container or until the rolls are a golden brown color.

Remove from the oven and let cool. Prepare the glaze. Drizzle strawberry sauce and glaze over the rolls.

Storage:

Store leftovers in plastic wrap or an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can also store these in the freezer.

Flavor variations

If strawberries are in season, try making this recipe with blueberries, raspberries, or cranberry sauce!  If you don’t like making a homemade compote, you can substitute strawberry jam.  You can also make cinnamon rolls using this method.

These look so good but i was wondering if you could use something in it besides the lemon juice

for the glaze? You can just use water or any kind of milk too. Put in a little at a time to get the consistency you want.
