Chia Seed Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip

I am pretty sure that I have told you before that I really love Greek Yogurt Ranch.   Dipping veggies in Greek Yogurt Ranch is something I can feel good about- when I just feel like snacking.   Last year, when I was pregnant, I ate it all the time.

On this blog, I have made Greek Yogurt Ranch Mashed Potatoes,  Greek Yogurt Ranch Crispy Chicken, and Greek Yogurt Ranch Deviled Eggs.  – All delicious.   

I don’t always make homemade ranch seasoning, I am open to using the packaged stuff too.   But actually when I just throw my own spices together, it usually tastes better.

Just recently, I found literally 4 big bags of chia seeds sitting in the back of our pantry.   I love how healthy they are.  I thought it would be fun to add chia seeds to homemade Greek Yogurt Ranch.   As I am eating something tasty, I might as well make it as healthy as I can.

After you place all of the seasonings in the Greek Yogurt, you will want to put the dip in the fridge to marinate for a few hours.  The chia seeds will expand a little.  I actually like the texture.

If you’re not sold on a dip made with only Greek Yogurt, add a little bit more salt.   If you’re still not sold on an only Greek yogurt dip.  add 1 part mayo or sour cream and 3 parts Greek Yogurt.   I know that Greek Yogurt can be an acquired taste.

Homemade Chia Seed Greek Yogurt Ranch 

Ingredients 

2 1/2 cups of Greek Yogurt

1 tablespoon parsley flakes

1 tablespoon of garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon chives or dried chives

1 tablespoon dried dill

1-2 tablespoon chia seeds

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

Method: Mix your seasonings together in a dish.   Add Greek yogurt and mix throughly.  Cover dish and place it in the fridge for a 1-2 hours.

I tried to get a close up of the dip- so you could kind of see the chia seeds.

Anyway, this dip was a huge hit.  I love putting out raw veggies for the kids during lunch and dinner time.  Plus, this is a dip I can feel proud of too!
