Door County Cherry Pie Baked Brie

I love everything about this easy appetizer!   It takes just 10-15 minutes to make, and it is so easy!  Plus, it is so delicious!  It is always demolished every time I make it!

I suppose that you can use any Cherry Pie Filling you like, but I always use the cherry pie filling from Seaquist Orchards.   It just the best.

Seaquist Orchards is my family’s favorite place to get gourmet foods.  We always take a big family trip there every summer when we visit Door County.  They have cherry everything.  Pies, salsa, chopped cherry jam, mustards, and cherry baked goods.  ( pssst.  They will ship anywhere!)

I always have to bring a big jar of their cherry pie filling home with me.

I like to keep a few rounds of brie in my fridge for when I need to make a quick appetizer.  We went to our friend’s house for a cookout during Labor Day weekend.  I needed to come up with something fast.  I just happened to have a round of brie in my fridge, along with some Cherry Pie filling.

I threw this together in 15 minutes, the minutes before it was time for us to go.   I added a sprig of rosemary to the top of this baked brie to add some aroma and depth.

Cherry Pie Baked Brie

Ingredients

One wheel of brie

2-3 cups of cherry pie filling

One sprig of rosemary

Method: Preheat oven to 350 degrees f.  On an oven-safe plate or baking dish, place a wheel of brie and dump the cherry pie filling on top of the brie. Add a sprig of rosemary.   Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly.  Serve with your choice of crackers or pretzels.  * Really in a time crunch?  try heating it in the microwave!
