This Tuscan White Bean and Sausage One-Pot Pasta Skillet is a take on my favorite Italian Soup. It is a great way to enjoy these Tuscan flavors when it is not “soup weather.” Plus, this dinner is super easy. You can create it in one pot and 30 minutes.
Back when I was a kid, growing up in Chicago, our yearly summer vacation was always in Wisconsin. My dad would pack up our minivan as efficiently as he could with a car-top carrier on top and bikes loaded anywhere there was room, and we would head up for a week of fun: biking, hiking, beaches, and picnics consisting of only local Wisconsin food.
Yes, that was the rule. We were only allowed to eat local fare when we were on vacation. So while our family friends ate chips and peanut butter sandwiches when they went to the beach- We ate whitefish, gourmet mustards, smoked cheddar, cherry jam, and sausage pretty much all week. Now, looking back, we pretty much had a feast every day.
You can imagine the excitement I felt when I had this great opportunity to create some recipes using Klement’s Sausage Company sausages. I distinctly remember stopping every year at a food store off the highway somewhere around Green Bay and sampling Klement’s Sausage on a saltine cracker. It’s classic.
Klement’s products are authentic hand-crafted sausages made with only premium ingredients. Klement’s produces Summer Sausage, Polish Sausage, Bratwurst, Snack Sticks, and Italian Sausage. Klement’s Sausage Company has been around for over 60 years when three brothers- John, George, and Ron Klement purchased a small sausage company in South Milwaukee. Klement’s has come a long way since then, but they have not lost their family business values.

I love making traditional Italian dishes, but I don’t always find the ingredients I am looking for here in Iowa. I used the find a store feature on their website and was pleasantly surprised when I saw that stores in Iowa, and stores really close to me, carry their products.
This Tuscan White Bean and Sausage Pasta Skillet are flavorful and really easy to make. I am always trying to create somewhat simple dinners because I always feel like I am in a time crunch. Using Klements Cooked Italian Sausage in a dinner recipe makes sense because the sausage is already cooked. Plus, you don’t need to add too many additional ingredients to achieve a meal filled with flavor.
This meal is made all in one pot- under 30 minutes.
five Klement’s Italian sausages- cut into rounds
1 can of cannellini beans
3 cloves of garlic- minced
2 tablespoons of olive oil
5 cups of chopped kale
2 medium-sized carrots, peeled and chopped
1 small onion, chopped
2 1/2 cups of chicken broth
1/2 cup of milk
2 bay leaves
12 ounces of pasta
Method: In a saucepan, over medium-low heat, cook carrots, onions, and kale in olive oil until the onions become transparent and soft. Add sausage rounds, beans, chicken broth, milk, bay leaves, and pasta. Cook pasta until the pasta is al dente. About 10-15 minutes, depending on what shape of pasta you use. Remove bay leaves and season with salt, pepper, or parmesan cheese if you choose.
This meal was absolutely delightful. My kids love all meals consisting of pasta, and my husband loved how this Klement’s Italian Sausage had a little bit of a “kick” to it. I just loved it because it reminded me of growing up in Chicago and eating Italian cuisine- mostly made by my mom.
