My family pretty much can’t have a family get together without baked beans. We serve baked beans at our summer Barbecues, we also have baked beans at all of our family holiday’s, even Thanksgiving. I seriously wonder what my husband’s family thought the first year we were married, when our families all attended Thanksgiving together. Baked Beans at Thanksgiving? Yup.
My family, we put all sorts of different things into our baked beans. My brother makes his with Canadian bacon, chopped bell peppers and giardiniera. My mom likes to add sausage links and lots of onions. I have tried all sorts of combinations, but I think I might like these Barbecue-Chorizo baked beans best.
In addition to baked beans, I love serving lemonade to my kids during the summer, it is such a refreshing treat. Simply Lemonade® has no artificial colors or flavors and really tastes homemade.
When I received the opportunity to create a recipe with this KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix & Dry Rub, I Instantly knew that I wanted to add it to a big pot of baked beans. Why not try some new flavors in my family’s favorite dish?
I purchased this Barbecue Rub at Sam’s club, and added it to my baked beans. I have since used this on chicken as well. It can be used on almost any meat or vegetables you plan on eating this summer. I also purchased Simply Lemonade® while I was at Sam’s Club, It made a nice addition to our summer meal.
I found this KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix & Dry Rub in the food department of Sam’s club in the aisle that goes around the perimeter of the store. I found Simply Lemonade® in the refrigerator section of the store, where you find all the drinks.
This is a really easy recipe, just add all the ingredients into a slow cooker and let the flavors simmer together.

1 packet of KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix & Dry Rub
Method: In a slow cooker, place 4 cans of rinsed navy beans, 1 small onion that has been chopped sauteed, cooked chorizo, brown sugar,KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix & Dry Rub, and water. Let cook in slow cooker for 4-6 hours on low. Serve when the flavors have simmered together to your satisfaction.
These Beans were out of this world. They were spicy, but not too spicy for the kids. They were packed with flavor and made an awesome addition to our summertime dinner out on the deck! Our cold mason jars filled with lemonade were delicious as well.
