Cherries.  They are a summer favorite in my house.   It could be because we go cherry picking up in Wisconsin every summer, or maybe because they are tart and sweet all at the same time.   But on second thought, I am a mom of little boys, and whenever they eat cherries, they make a huge mess and I know they are secretly in heaven.

I love cherry pies, eating cherries plain and cherries are also wonderful in any savory dish.  It always works, and cherries always taste delicious.  They are part of summer.

But yes, cherry juice is messy.   Especially when I use my cherry pitter on the juiciest ones.

When the folks at Scotch-Brite®, asked me to try out their new Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloths,  I immediately said yes.  As a recipe developer, and a busy mom of two ( almost three) small boys I am always trying to look for more efficient ways to clean up after a meal.  – Especially when cooking that meal makes a huge mess!

These Scotch-Brite Scrubbing Dish Cloths have one textured side and one smooth side.  The textured side is really great, it can really help you scrub pans and other things in your kitchen without scratching.    This is a brand new product, and it comes in three colors; navy, tan and coral.

One thing that I love about these Scotch-Brite Scrubbing Dish Cloth dish cloths- is that you can wash them and reuse them!

I found these dish clothes at Walmart in the sponge section of the cleaning aisle.

This Scotch-Brite Scrubbing Dish Cloth was really a help when I cleaned my white sink and my white dishes after they got all cherry stained.   Here are some tips on how to clean a white sink

Tips on cleaning a white sink

1) I I like to use dry dishwasher soap to clean my sink.  I let it sit at the bottom of the sink.  Scotch-Brite Scrubbing Dish Cloths are perfect for scrubbing the soap off the sink in order to make it clean.   I always try to avoid scratching the bottom of my white sink.

2) If you like using natural products, you can also clean your white sink with baking soda.  Just sprinkle baking soda into your sink and let it sit for a few minutes.   Use Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloths to scrub the sink with the baking soda

3) Use vinegar to clean stains on your white sink.   let the vinegar simmer on the stain for about 10 minutes before scrubbing it.

Now on to my amazing Cherry-Balsamic Pork Loin

One thing I learned over the past few years- is that there is a right way and a wrong way to cook pork.   I use a meat thermometer, and cook my pork until it reaches 150 degrees.   This way it is juicy, and never overdone and dry.

Cherry-Balsamic, Bacon-Wrapped Pork Loin

Ingredients

4 cups of pitted cherries ( with stems taken off)

1/3 cup of balsamic vinegar

1/4 cup of honey

1 tablespoon of olive oil

4-5 slices of bacon

1 2lb pork tenderloin roast

Method:  Preheat oven to 350 f.   In a saucepan over medium heat, mix pitted cherries, balsamic vinegar, honey and olive oil, stir until the ingredients become a sauce.  Set aside.  Wrap bacon around pork loin roast and sear the pork loin over medium heat, until each side has become slightly brown.   Remove pork loin from heat and place it on a sheet pan.  Finish the pork loin in the oven until the internal temp reaches 150 degrees.   Remove from oven and top with the cherry-balsamic sauce and serve. Cherry-Balsamic Sauce2

This Bacon-Wrapped Pork Loin was a crowd pleaser!  Plus, I had an easy clean-up, thanks to Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloths.   Don’t forget to obtain the $1.00 coupon as well!

The flavors in that pork sound unbelievable, and I have 2 lbs of cherries sitting in my fridge just waiting for something like this to come along!
