Does anyone else here love baseball?  I do.   I love how the games are unpredictable.  I could watch it all day long.   Do you know what else I love?  A good baseball game.   Growing up in the Chicago area, I had my fill of baseball.

The White Sox is totally my #1 team.

But there is nothing like catching a game at Wrigley Field.   ( Here is a picture of me and a few of my cousins catching Cub’s game.

If you are a baseball fan like I am, then you probably know that -Opening Day- is quickly approaching.  Did you know that Opening Day of baseball used to be a unofficial afternoon off? Kingsford Charcoal is looking for you to help them ” Take Back” opening day!

Every opening day of baseball should be complete with ballpark treats.   I have always loved the Cuban Pork Burger that is offered at Wrigley Field.    I decided that I needed to make one at home for opening day.   I decided to make mine a Cuban pork chop sandwich- appropriate since I now am raising my family in Iowa.

These Cuban Pork Chop Sandwiches are full of flavor!  I marinated the pork chops overnight.  Plus this sandwich has ham, pickles, swiss cheese and mustard!  YUM!

Cuban Pork Chop Sandwiches   ( serves 4-6)

6 thin pork chops

1 cup of shredded swiss cheese

yellow mustard

6-8 ham slices

Pork Chop Marinade

Juice of 2 oranges

Juice of 2 limes

5 cloves of minced garlic

1/4 cup canola oil

1 teaspoon of cumin

3 teaspoons of oregano

Method:  Marinate the Pork Chops overnight.  Remove from the marinade and grill to your liking.   Assemble your sandwich.   toast buns and heat up ham.   Place one pork chop on the bun, followed by ham, cheese, pickles and mustard.   You can add other toppings as well

This was an absolutely delicious sandwich and really got me excited for baseball and grilling season!   I can’t wait for baseball season to start!  And now that my boys are getting older.  I am thinking that I need to take the kids to a baseball game this year.
