Healthy Frozen Snickers Banana Bites

So yeah. This happened.

Do you know that chocolate covered frozen banana bites you can get at Trader Joe’s? Well, they were the inspiration for this dessert. I wanted to make ones that taste like a Snickers Bar. These Frozen Banana Bites are little, for when you want just a pinch of dessert. But they’re healthy. So if you eat three, that’s okay!

If you like this recipe, you might want to try my Snickers Stuffed Dates as well.

The concoction I used for the “Nougat.” Has the texture of nougat, but the taste of caramel, so you have just one little mixture that makes up both of those elements of the snickers.

Seriously, is there anything better than frozen snickers?

Here is a little video tutorial I made up for you!

Frozen Snickers Banana Bites ( makes 15-20 bites)

Ingredients
2 Bananas
1/3 cup of dark chocolate chips -or the chocolate of your choice
1/8 cup of chopped salted peanuts
1/2 cup Nougat

Nougat
1/4 cup of All-natural peanut butter
Three tablespoons of maple syrup
One tablespoon coconut flour.  Not more, coconut flour is very absorbent.

Method. Mix the Nougat and set aside.  On a cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper, arrange sliced bananas. Top each banana with a small amount of nougat, followed by chopped peanuts. Microwave chocolate chips for 30 seconds and stir until chocolate is melted. Drizzle a little chocolate on top of the bananas. Freeze for 4-6 hours. Remove each bite out of the freezer as you want to eat them. After you remove each bit from the freezer to eat, wait 1-2 minutes before eating it.

Um yeah. So these won over my family with flying colors! Greg was so mad that he had to wait until I took pictures of these to eat more! The three ingredient caramel sauce was a huge success! I plan on making it again!

Great idea! Love this caramel sauce! Instead of the melted chocolate chips, I melted some coconut oil and mixed it with cocoa powder to make a chocolate sauce- a little bit healthier and more controlled ingredients! Love this!
