One day, ( before children) , I was bored.
Looking for something creative “to do” I quickly hopped on “blogger” and created a blog.
And here I am over 4 years later. I have had two kids, and moved twice since then. And this “blog” has actually become a large part of my life. Who knew?
I am one of the lucky ones, lucky because I get to make a living doing what I love. Staying at home with my kids AND making a living, food blogging.
What will you find on this “Blog?”
Recipes. Mostly. It’s funny, I never intended for this to be a “food” blog. But here we are.
My cooking skills have “matured” over the years and now, most of the food that I make is actually quite good. I am not “culinary trained.” I learn by trial and error. My cooking skills have come quite far. It’s a true story, that the first year I was married, ( 2006) I dumped an entire sugar bowl into stir fry. I also threw a bunch of vegetables into a pot of water, and thought it would magically turn into soup.
What kind of recipes do you usually post?
Mostly healthy “twists” on classics, like Mini Flourless Apple Pies or my Healthy Coffee Frappe. You will also find DIY Food tutorials. like DIY freezer chicken nuggets. or DIY “Go gurt”.
Isn’t everything always so much better when it’s homemade?
Sometimes I will also post about my family and being a mom
Writing Personal stories is hard for me to do. I have always been a pretty private person. My life is pretty ordinary and, unlike a lot of bloggers, I don’t really have any ” story” to tell. I DO think that I live an extraordinary life though. I try to live out each day to the fullest. I truly try to ” Make The Best of Everything” with everything that I do.
A Little About me
My name is Kristen. I am 32. I have been married to Greg for 9 years. We have two boys, ages 3 and 1. I grew up in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, but I am now raising my kids in Northeast Iowa. I love it here. I met my husband in college. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Political Science. I love working out, spending time with my family, watching movies, being creative and blogging. With two little kids, there isn’t much time for anything else. My life is busy, but I love it.
I do talk about my family a little bit on this blog, but rarely will I show my kids. putting full pictures of my children on the internet is a little scary for me. I love sharing stories about food, but if my children want to share details about their lives on the internet, then I will let them decide that when they get older.
