These Slow Cooker Beef Gyros are so good. They’re so flavorful and tastes so good with homemade Greek Yogurt Tzatziki sauce.
I know I have mentioned before on this blog that I just love Greek food. Growing up, I lived just minutes away from the Greek Isles location in Lombard, Il. If you have never heard of the Greek Isles- then you need to visit Greek town next time you visit Chicago. I was exposed to Greek food early and got hooked at a young age.
I cooked this beef in the slow cooker- and it was literally falling apart when I took it out. I added lots of herbs to this meat, but I think it is the garlic and red onions that made these gyros fantastic. Next time I might add more garlic, you can never have too much.
When this was cooking, my house smelled wonderful. I love the smell of Rosemary. Before you serve this though, make sure you find the Rosemary and Marjoram springs out of the slow cooker before you serve them!
You also need to make sure that you garnish your gyros accordingly. I love mini cucumber slices, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce for sure. You might also want to add greek olives and feta cheese!
